Network & telephony
Wi-Fi setup
Wireless that also reaches the workshop and the warehouse
What this is about
A single router rarely covers a whole business. We measure where the dead spots are, place access points in the right locations and keep guests cleanly separated from the business network.
What is included
- Coverage survey with measurements instead of guesswork
- Access points with seamless roaming as people move around
- Separate guest network with its own access
- Channel and power planning to avoid interference
- Central management of all access points
Process
How we go about it.
Measure
Coverage survey during normal operation, including the warehouse and workshop.
Plan
Define locations, channels, networks and permissions.
Build
Installation, configuration, fine-tuning.
Re-measure
Check after two weeks of real use.
Frequent questions
This is what we are often asked.
Why is the router not enough?
Because walls, shelving and machinery attenuate the signal. More transmit power does not help, but several well-placed access points do.
Can guests use the Wi-Fi without reaching any data?
Yes. The guest network is completely separate and only reaches the internet, not the business network.
Does this also work for handheld scanners in the warehouse?
Yes, and that is in fact the most common reason for a proper coverage survey, because scanners react badly to dead spots.
