Network & telephony
Network planning
From a tangle of cables to a planned network
What this is about
In many businesses the network has grown over the years: a switch here, an extension cable there. We record what is in place and build a structure that is still understandable in five years' time.
What is included
- Survey of the existing cabling and devices
- Address plan with fixed ranges for servers, workstations, equipment and guests
- Selection of suitable switches and wall sockets
- Labelling and documentation of every route
- Handover with a network diagram ready to hang on the wall
Process
How we go about it.
Site visit
We look at the rooms, cable routes and the equipment cabinet.
Plan
Define address ranges, devices and cable routes.
Implementation
Installation, labelling, testing.
Handover
Network diagram, access details, briefing.
Frequent questions
This is what we are often asked.
Does this mean re-cabling?
Often not. Many businesses have usable cables that are simply poorly documented. We only lay new cable where it is necessary.
How long does a changeover take?
One to two days for planning, and between a day and a week to implement depending on size. Larger steps are scheduled outside peak hours.
Will I receive documentation?
Always: network diagram, address list, access details in a password manager, and labelling on site.
Sollen wir uns das ansehen?
Ein kurzes Gespräch genügt, um einzuschätzen, was in Ihrem Betrieb sinnvoll ist — und was nicht.
